Giant Arnold Schwarzenegger Statues

Bodybuilding Statues: The Battle of Bronze, Dirt, and
 Sludge?

When it comes to immortalizing legends, bodybuilding has taken some unexpected turns. From a Tom Platz statue sculpted entirely from dried topsoil—aptly named Dirt Eagle—to an Arnold Schwarzenegger sighting on Easter Island, the world of iron and artistry is colliding in ways no one saw coming.

And of course, Lou Ferrigno isn’t standing idly by. Upon hearing of Arnold’s monument, Lou reportedly declared, “I’m not satisfied. I want more statue! I wanna beat him!” before rushing to commission his own “Bronze Louie” near the Hollywood sign.

But the madness doesn’t stop there. Papua New Guinea’s annual “Mud Schwarzenegger” competition pits entire villages against one another in a battle to create the most lifelike Arnold figure out of—you guessed it—mud. Not to be overshadowed, Ferrigno is already in talks to launch his own “Sludge Lou” contest.

Could this be the dawn of a statue war between bodybuilding icons? The details are too bizarre to ignore.
