Welcome to the future of faster. Introducing The PUMA BeatBot – a programmable, self-driving, line-following robot that inspires PUMA’s runners of all levels to push harder by giving them a real visual target to beat, not just the time on a stopwatch.

The Beatbot is primarily motivational, giving the runner a programmable robot to compete against. It can reach speeds of up to 44.66 kilometers per hour and is programmed using smartphone apps. It also looks like it can circle a track to keep pace with long distance runners. The current cost is prohibitively expensive, so the device is only available to Puma-sponsored athletes and teams. Its a safe bet that newer models will follow and the device will eventually be available and affordable to amateur athletes. Robots are taking over, have no doubt.
