Jair Messias Bolsonaro (born 21 March 1955) is a Brazilian politician and retired military officer who has been the 38th president of Brazil since 1 January 2019.
What, When, and Why?
Bolsonaro released a series of Tweets on August 19. 2022 stating that “The Federal Government has zeroed import taxes on food supplements, such as whey protein, creatine, BCAAs and multivitamins, and various sports nutrition items, in addition to reducing taxes on various other items from 11.2 to 4%, such as dairy proteins and albumin.”
“Why don’t you announce a food tax reduction?” Because we’ve been announcing it for months! Taxes on basic food items have been continuously reduced and zeroed since 2020 to combat the effects of “stay at home and the economy sees later” and war.”
“Beef; chicken meat; flour; coffee; Margarine; soy oil; noodle; crackers and biscuits; bakery and pastry products; sugar and many others have already been included in past reductions, as have medicines, fuel, energy and cooking gas.”

In June 2022, Bolsonaro took issue with a Mark “Hulk” Ruffalo tweet. In response, Bolsonaro basically called Mark Ruffalo an idiot for memorizing lines like “AHGFRR” in his Hulk script and neglecting to read the Brazilian Constitution.
Bodybuilding supporter that he is, Bolsonaro then stood up for the original Hulk Lou Ferrigno and denounced Ruffalo’s digital Hulk that replaced actual bodybuilders!
Bolsonaro is one of the few world leaders to address digital actors replacing real life bodybuilders. Built Report spoke on this as it related to the movie Warcraft, which created digital ogres instead of hiring Rich Piana.
Some Brazilians are comparing Bolsonaro to Rambo and the Hulk.
Bolsonaro supports bodybuilders playing the Hulk. Can bodybuilders play the Hulk but be digitally enhanced as well?
