In the digital age all photos are suspect but at least, for now, there is a foolproof way of determining whether or not a still picture taken from a video or film has been altered just by looking at the video itself. Schwarzenegger, himself, declared his best contest condition to be that which he attained at the 1971 Mr. Olympia contest in Paris, France. Many argue that Arnold achieved his lifetime best shape at the 1974 Mr. Olympia but, looking at the video these stills are taken from, it is hard to argue that his 1971 condition isn’t in the running. He looks to have even greater-than-Sergio Oliva mass spread out over an over-six-foot-tall frame with all the extra detail that Sergio lacked.

No one came close to Arnold at that year’s Mr. Olympia Contest because the other three competitors were disqualified. See below link for more details on the disqualifications:

The quality of the video these stills were taken from is obviously not the sharpest and there is some “ghosting” effect around Schwarzenegger but he is indeed pretty huge in the video and looks like he could win the current Mr. Olympia if his 1971 version could compete today. The size and conditioning Arnold exhibits in the stills and in the video must have been mind blowing for the 1971 Mr. Olympia crowd, much less anyone unfamiliar with the then hardly known world of bodybuilding.
